Hi Olof,
First of all THANKS for this great app.; It's ultra lightweight and has everything one might expect from a simple RAMDisk tool, despite some comments regarding it's UI which works for me perfectly fine (GOOD batch programmers don't need an UI anyways..
! Got a request however for an option -included when a disk is being created- which immo. would highly improve flexability and usability, no longer need for an external *.img grabber:
-si (<time><m/h>) (<path>)
* -si: Save *.Img upon driver unload by system reset / shutdown, only if changed.
* Optional <time><m/h>: Backup every xxx min./hrs. and upon driver unload, only if changed.
* Optional <path>: Only valid when a disk has been created with quick format, if exists just overwrite.
Don't know if it's even possible, I'm not a coder
.. For maintenance purposes (ie. to be sure all drives are auto-stored before perfoming riskey operations) or when more PC recourses are needed instantly, haven't found an option yet to unmount all drives and unload the devicedriver 'imdsksrv.exe' from memory in a 'friendly' manner besides ending it's process with taskmanager.. You may also want to add abutton in the UI:
* -ud: Unmount all drives, (auto-)store tasks are perfomed for all drives and unload device-driver from memory.
Must admit, I rarely have used the more advanced feat.'s and I don't know how all of this would impact those.. I just tend to use ImDisk as a RAMDisk and *.img creator, but I think it would add some usefull basics, if your main-focus would be *.img to RAM and vise versa..
Kind regards, Marg.
