I've had my WinPE7_SE for a few years now, all polished up the way I like with scads of drivers and apps I have added. I recently downloaded WinPE8_SE in order to maybe keep ahead of the curve when time comes to switch. Even if we never go with Win 8, I don't want to be stuck behind the 8 ball the way I was when Win XP PE was no longer sufficient and everyone was going with VistaPE and then Win 7PE.
Well I've just about got it looking pretty good but I am haunted by persistent bug-a-boos with this new PE and OS. It just act, well, weird. One common thing I do is back up my own PCs that have a sizable Truecrypt data partition that must be mounted in order to have a target to write Ghost files TO. This fails every time I use it. The container or partition mounts and data can be seen but about 1/2 way through the Ghost process the process give up the "ghost" (sorry for the pun) and I have to revert back to Win PE 7. This is using the SAME Winbuilder script in both projects.
Other weird things, network disconnects, failures to mount volumes and other odd things.
What's your guys take on this project? Having issues too? In your opinion is it the projects maturity or the result of the OSs weirdities?
