Hi
I have read through the stickies but have been unable to work out how to solve my problem
I have been using Grub4Dos on a USB stick to boot various ISO versions of Acronis True image including the Linux and VistaPE/Windows7PE versions. I also use it to boot the Windows 7 rescue disk ISO.
I recently got O&O Disc Image 5 Pro which comes with a Bootable ISO. It appears to be VistaPE with Diskimage.
When booted from a CD direct it loads Vista and boots into the programme and runs OK. At the start of the programme it identifies a Windows 7 present- on my system HD- and then after clicking OK it continues working.
However when booted from the USB stick it loads Vista and identifies I have windows 7 - same behaviour as before - then when I click OK it states Licence not found- missing licence- and exits.
O&O tech support state
"The issue will happen when the device you are booting from is not recognised by the starting WindowsPE.
At the moment we are working an a solution to boot DiskImage 5 from USB Flash drives which is a few weeks away. But there is no guarantee that this solution will boot from a GrubDos USB drive."
I am at lost to explain why the licence is not detected when the ISO is booted from the ISO via Grub4Dos but detected when booting from the CD and whether there is anything I could do to make it work. I added root (hd32) after reading the stickies above. I don't use that command in the other successful ISO booting
Here is the part of the Menu.lst I use
title O&O Disc Image Pro 5
map (hd0,0)/OODI_5_0_117_PRO_ENU.iso (hd32)
map --hook
root (hd32)
chainloader (hd32)
boot
Thanks in advance and a great forum which I am currently reading in depth.
